'Truth-Telling Through Fiction’: Anita Heiss in Conversation
Please join Nicole Abadee and me on July 24
Hope you can join Nicole Abadee and me as we explore truth-telling in First Nations through my historical fiction. Thurs 24 July 6pm–7pm at the Museum of Sydney.
On the night, you will also learn about Towards Truth, a groundbreaking truth-telling project developed in response to the Uluru Statement from the Heart. A partnership between the Justice and Equity Centre and the UNSW Indigenous Law Centre, Towards Truth shows how laws and government decisions have impacted First Nations people since colonisation began. Bold in scope and forensic in execution, Towards Truth is changing how we understand our history and the Australian colonial project.
Before the talk, attendees are invited to a private viewing of the Seeing Sydney, Knowing Country exhibition between 5pm and 5.45pm. The presentation will be followed by a book signing and an opportunity to meet the Towards Truth team.

Broke my heart also to watch compass - I passed Stan on a dawning walk at Coogee - I wanted to hug him and say hello and all of that - but I could not intrude. No idea if you guys get on of course. His cousin was a mate of mine at school. Apropos of bloody nothing. Off tomorrow to cat sit so disappearing for a week xx
